This three hour seminar deals with Confined Spaces and their impact on Fire Department response. Areas covered are Occupation Health and Safety Regulations, predominant confined space hazards, methods of identification, control and abatement. Also covered are Fire Department initial response, scene control, exterior hazard abatement procedures. This program would be of interest to any Departments who would respond to a confined space incident and initiate initial action steps only.

R.W. (Bob) GORDON
Bob has been involved with the Fire Service for over forty years. He was a career Firefighter for 37 years, ten of those being a Chief Training Officer. Since his retirement he has been active in course delivery, program design and consulting. He currently is Zone 2 Chairman of the B.C. Fire Training Officer Association, a position he has held since 1998.
Bob authored the original Fire Service Instructor I and II programs, currently offered through the Fire and Safety Division and was recipient of the B.C. Fire Service Training Achievement Award in 1998. Bob has extensive background in designing and presenting Train the Trainer programs, teaches Confined Space programs for industry and fire and offers Strategy and Tactics programs.
